Frequently Asked Questions

Q. Can I record at the event?
A. Sadly, this is not something that is open right now.

Q: I'm coming to see X speaker. Are they guarenteed to be there?
A: We go out of our way to make sure every one of the "Masters" we sign will be here. There are circumstances that prohibit them from coming, this could be due to an emergency or thier choice or ours. In the event that one "Master" can't make it out, we will have plenty of others to make up for it.

Q. Will I get to book private time with the masters?
A. The evening will end at a "decent" time, it will be up to each master if they want to book one on ones. Most of the masters don't get flowing until late in the evening, so your chances are good! The masters have agreed that none of the one on one bookings will be with people OUTSIDE the event! So if you're not attending the event, you're not booking time with them!

Q. I'm sure everything the masters are saying is important, but I just want to attend the shoot, is this possible?
A. You are free to pay and attend the shoot portion only, but there isn't a shoot only fee. You will be paying the full attendance/group shoot fee, might as well take advantage, right?

Q. I will be at the shooting event, will I get a commercial release of the models?
A. No, sorry. There will be a generic use release that will entitle everyone to use the images for self publication, but no commercial use is allowed. Everyone will be provided with some sort of contact for the models, from there, you will be free to contact the model and possibly work something out.

Q. What will I need to bring with me?
A. Pen, pencil, paper and a willing attitude to learn for the in class section. Camera gear, memory card and laptop/something to free up cards is all that's needed for the shoot.

Q. Can I bring my own strobes?
A. Meeting of the Masters is sponsored by Photogenic Strobes, they will provide us with all the strobes we need. To cut out confusion and incompatibility issues, you will get the chance to shoot with state of the art digital strobes provided by Photogenic.

Q. Can I book the models for my own private shoot during the event?
A. When the models aren't booked for the sessions, you are more than free to set something up.

Q. Can I bring my portfolio and have the masters look it over and give critiques?
A. No. This even't isn't for portfolio review or back slapping from the masters. It's about using their time to learn from them and to further educate yourself. The awesome thing about Meeting of the Masters? After the event, they will know you, so you will be free to ask them after the event. Again, the purpose of the event is NOT for portfolio review.

Q. How do I know this event is for me?
A. If you're a photographer, or someone who wants to be a photographer, this is the event for you. Never has there been six of the top photographers of their chosen field together giving you information they've learned over the combined 100+ years of shooting.

Q: I've paid for my spot, but 60days before hand, I realize I can't make it. Can I get a full refund?
A: Full refunds are given up to 60days before the event. This is because we have to take a head count and provide these numbers to the various vendors. As long as you make the request before the 59th day, you are fine!

Q: I know that I'm paying for my spot and there aren't any refunds given 60days prior, but my cat is sick.
A: Sadly, 60 days prior to the event, no refunds are given for any reason. We have to tally numbers and that late in the process, we've already made plans and done a number count. You are more than free to "sell" your spot to a friend. They pay you and you let us know so we can remove your name from the roster and put theirs in.

Q: I'm a general portrait photographer; will I learn anything from this event?
A: EVERYONE will learn something. Many photographers claim to shoot "boudoir" but unfortunately they do not do it very well. Why not learn from the best fashion and glamour professionals? You will get the inside scoop on how they shoot so that you can integrate it into your business model!

Q: Photographer X is a great general portrait photographer; will you add him/her?
A. No, there are plenty of events for portrait photography. Our focus is on fashion and glamour and how you can apply it to your business.

Q: I'm a boudoir photographer, is there anything for me?
A. Yes, of course. This event is specifically catered to boudoir!.

Q: Can I get a photo of me with each of the Masters?
A. We won't say no, but we won't say yes, either. The purpose of this event is to learn from the Masters. We only have them for a limited amount of time and prefer to have them teaching, than doing photo ops. If you can catch them with a moment to spare - feel free to ask.

Q: Can I schedule one on one time with the Masters?
A. Most of the Masters will be there a day or two before, others a day or two after. It will be up to them to book the shoot. Only those who attend the event will be able to book the Masters.

Q: I'll be arriving in Denver a few days early/staying a few days later, what are some cool things to do while I'm out there?
A. Visit http://www.denver.com/attractions/ for some great suggestions.

Q. Will I be kept up to date as to the happenings of the event?
A. Everyone who registers, will be added to a monthly email digest, letting them know what's going on with the event, what's new and exciting.

Q. I will be flying in from out of town, will I need to rent a car, or will I be picked up?
A. Sorry, shuttle service isn't something that we'll provide as the hosts job will be catering to the masters every whim. You can let us know your flight plan and we can share that info with others and see if they would be willing to do a car pool.

Q. Can I share hotel rooms?
A. Sure! When you register, let us know if you want to share a room and we'll put together a list.

Q. What about the models? will there be tall, supermodel type models there?
A. Meeting of the Masters is abou teaching you how to shoot and handle the majority of people that you will shoot day in and day out. While many of us like to think of us as the next Stephen Eastwood, the bottom line is the majority of faces and bodys we shoot are not supermodel-esque, so why have these anomolys in our books? There will be specific models for this years event, but learn how to light a "regular" body, and when you get that supermodel type model, you'll blow away and floor them!
